“As the winds brought us” by Anna Afendoulidou

Text by Anna Afentoulidou, based on Epirus traditions about Fairies, and on the short story by Ch. Christovassilis, "The Fairy's Castle".
"An old story in a new fairy tale" (Ch. Christovassilis), for older children of all ages.
In folk tales, people's fear of behaviors that deviated from the norm created the Fairies. Beautiful, erotic women.
They had the ability to live in nature but also in human societies, having human characteristics. In some cases, they were forced to adopt other roles at the same time, such as those of wife and mother.
However, their need was the return to nature and freedom.
Our play is based on the story of one such Fairy, Giannos.
The play talks about myths (how the city of Ioannina was created) and stories about fairies that Epirus grandmothers used to tell on winter evenings.
Premiered in April 2018, Performances are given at the T.W.P. theater and the play is touring in Parga, Arta and two performances in Ioannina.
