“Midsummer's Night Dream” by William Shakespeare
(Winter 2006)
Perhaps Shakespeare's most erotic play.
Adapted by the group's director.
"Hermia, daughter of the king of Athens, decides to steal away with her beloved Lysander despite her father's wishes to the contrary. She flees to the magical forest with him, but her other lover, Demetrius, follows her, claiming her love.
But Helena is in love with Demetrius and she follows him in turn, trying to prevent him from approaching Hermia. The forest elves play an artful role in the development of this excellent work."
Premiered in December 2006 and performances in Preveza, Philippiada and Ioannina follow.
In May 2007, after an invitation from the Preveza Film Club, a performance was given at a Conference on the theme "Cinema and Theatre" for the conference participants.
