“The Dictatorship of Beauty”
(Summer 2010)
The play is based on an idea by the director and improvisations by the actors.
A man, on a gossip television show, tells his life story. He had a quiet life until he discovers that everyone considers him unspeakably ugly. His visit to the operating table of a famous plastic surgeon transforms him into a very handsome man.
His life is turned upside down and filled with interest, money, women, frivolity. His character changes. His wife lusts after him, his manager gives him a promotion, his plastic surgeon takes him from medical conferences to TV shows, a journalist makes his life a living hell, three nurses sing and dance while commentating, and a cleaning lady dreams of becoming beautiful.
Until everything is turned upside down...

A black musical comedy that comments on the obsession with beauty and its ideals, with original songs performed by the actors.
It was presented in the summer of 2010 in Krania, Nikolitsi, Paramythia, in the winter at the Castle of Agios Andreas at the Theater of the Greek National University of Athens and in the spring in Parga and Lefkada.
